It's only a few days before the presidential primaries, and I have been bombarded and pummeled with political broadcast content and advertising to the point that I am dreading the next nine months of broadcast television viewing. Continuing the futile quest of achieving any degree of broacast veiwing enjoyment, until this November, following the election.. God save us from the mass media, and thank you for the creation of satellite & cable TV, video tapes, and DVDs, that give some releif from the voluminous presentation of pre-election political horseshit on television!

Rosa Rosales, President of the League of United Latin American Citzens, said to Lou Dobbs in front the audience during a live television dialogue about the United States' construction of fences along the U.S./Mexico border, "...what did President Reagan tell Gorbachev? Tear down that wall (built in Berlin by the East German communist regime.)...Now we want a new wall (border of Mexico)...What did he say?" This conversation at the CNN Broken Borders town hall meeting show televised from San Antonio, Texas, brings this personal thought to my mind. I believe Rosa needs to realize that we are erecting fences on our Southern border to keep illegal entry into the U.S., not our citizens from leaving this country. There's a significant difference. Source: Broken Borders -  Lou Dobbs Tonight of CNN Cable News Channel. Historical background. On August 13th 1961, Soviet and East German troops started construction of the "Berlin Wall" to prevent the escape of people to the democratic run area of West Germany. It would stand 18 years as a symbol of the Cold War.

A Christian evangelist on the television I was watching the other night, said something to the effect that God has ten commandments or laws...we (mankind) make and maintain a lot of laws that don't work or solve our problems...so we should look totally to God's laws as the solution to all life's problems. I think this man should consider before looking to the Ten Commandments as a total human problem remedy, that it is those laws we generate and enforce in the United Sates and elsewhere in the world that allow him in fact, to stand on stage before the audience and television cameras, and say just that. If our laws were not created and enforced, and the government, law enforcement & military defended our county, civilization and economic interests with only a Bible and God's Ten Commandments, including "Thou shalt not kill," he, with all probabability would not be able to delivery his religious views in such an open and free manner. He instead, would be totally vulnerablebe to attack, repression, and forced into secrecy of speech and assembly for worship...amen.

After watching the unrelenting unfolding of the Anna Nichole Smith body custody fight, I thought, "The woman is dead...leave her alone already!"

A STORY

Peering out of a window of a Greyhound bus, traveling through Washington, D.C., and while passing our center of defense and security (The Pentagon) of this great free nation, I experienced the sight of a large round black area on the exterior of the Pentagon, marking the location the hi-jacked plane crashed, as a result of, the work of the U.S. terrorist attackers of September 11, 2001. It was both an eerie and sobering moment of personal realization that our national vulnerability to deadly attack of enemies of this great country of the United States of America is a current, definite and real fact. God...please save our free and wonderful society from destruction.

One time, sitting at the Amvets Post 55 bar, i was talking and swearing as many ex-military people do. One of the women guests said, "I wish you would'nt say the 'F' word." I replied, "Would you rather I fart?" She said, "Go into the bathroom and do that." I continued, "If I had to go into the other room to swear, the bathroom to fart and pick my nose, I wouldn't have time to sit here, enjoy a drink and talk to anyone."
