"The Summer of 2007"

My summer of 2007 included the creation of a twenty minute presentation consisting of photograpy & video shot in two rural Ohio towns' parades. The first piece is of the Marshallville 25th Anniversary Historical Days Parade and the remaing four of the Orville July 4th Parade. The entire work features my Wayne County Chapter #44 of the Disabled American Veterans organization and the Vietnam Veterans Color Guard of the same area. Each creation is of varied, visual & musical content, and makes a unique and enjoyable audio/visual statement. Copies can be purchased from the information contained on the 'ORDER INFO' page of this web site. A charge of $15 per computer disc inludes disk, shipping and handling to your door and should be included with your order. God Speed.   Ray Filak

"AN ASIAN AFFAIR"

A Raymond H. Filak pictoral documentary with music of the time featuring Alpha Battery 1/14 artillery support from January 1969 - January 1970 in the defense of L.Z.Gator, Chu Lai Air Force Base, Vietnam. This production using amateur still and motion photography by Executive Producer Bob "Zeek" Dziak and comrades, documents the life of Dziak and his Army experiences during this tour in Vietnam. The home-assembled production of 74 minutes is produced, directed and edited by Raymond H. Filak. A must for reality buffs at a all inclusive $15 charge (see the'ORDER INFO' page.)

January 12, 2007 - The guy, the executive producer...pictured above and firing the howitzer (to right) in the photo, retired from a mundane maintenance position he held for 30 years. Yesterday, the following day, I called him from out-of-state at least 3 times... talking only with his wife Eileen over a 9 hour period . I was hoping to directly extend my congratulations this day after. On the first phone call she said, "He's sleeping. He had a rough night last night." The second call, again she reports, "He's still sleeping."...and again, and again... My guess is at least one of his friends Jack, Daniels of course, put him through the ringer at his first retirement celebration. I wanted to let Bob know, if he had too much alcohol to drink...I'd never talk to him again...and he'd never talk to me again...nor would anyone else...he'd be dead. But he is well and alive with a headache when he finally got up. Funny how that works. Enjoyment and comfort to all your years of retirement buddy! Good Luck, enjoy and God Bless.

I was almost right. He drinks scotch whiskey. Anyway, I do have a prescription and therapy for my old buddy that will enhance and help him survive his retirement days. Just fill your glass 1/2 full or more of scotch and sip away the day napping in between. You now have time to fill and enjoy, that a working family man does not. Let me know if this suggested lifestyle works for you.     r
